1. How do you think Fulham have done so far this season, and where do you think you will finish in the table ?
Not too well honestly. We have had a few great results like 6-0 against QPR, 5-2 vs Newcastle and the wins against Arsenal and Liverpool. However, we have more often than not played quite badly, and can't seem to get our offense or defense working properly. We have leaned back way too much in games that we've been winning, and therefore lost quite a few points. Like many say, myself included, this is a transitional season where we "get rid" (that's sounds quite awful) of the 30+ year old's from Hodgson's era and replace them with players like Frei, Ruiz and Kasami. These players haven't quite bloomed out yet, and we are of course lacking a striker,a player that can put the ball in the back of the net. Luckily our Texan Clint Dempsey has been there to score the goals which brings me on to the next question. (Forgot where we would finish: 15th)
2. Who is your star man at the moment ? anyone we should watch out for ?
Again, Clint Dempsey. He really does know how to get in the right place in the box from a striker or midfield position. He is quite a finisher too. However my nomination for the player to watch out for goes to Mousa Dembélé. I predict that he'll have a crackin' game and perhaps supply Dempsey one or more times. Maybe he'll even grab a goal of his own! He really is a fantastic player, and I will be very sad to see him go. It is almost certainly just a matter of time before that happens.
3. What are your feelings about Martin Jol, is he the right man for you ?
Personally I back Martin. He may not be a tactical mastermind like Roy Hodgson but he's doing the right thing for our club and is actually thinking about our future, which neither Hodgson nor Hughes did. I just hope that he gets the squad's full backing and that we improve on the pitch. Our academy has been doing excellently this season, now our regulars just need to get it together, with Jol's guidance, and we'll be in for a successful remainder of the season. I think that deep down I look at Jol so positively because I know that there isn't a good replacement available. If Martin O'Neil or Sir Alex Ferguson was available I might be slightly more negative.
4. What are your views on Stoke City ?
Honestly: I enjoy having Stoke in the Premier League. You add a spark and fall into the category of "classic British teams" that help make this league what it is. I must however admit that I'm a bit of a hater when it comes to your style of play (I bet you haven't heard that before) but at the same time I wouldn't actually want you to change because then you wouldn't be the same Stoke City. I never want my beloved Fulham to adapt to your style though, but I'm happy for you to have that role. Oh, I forgot to mention: I do not want you to at all succeed in the Europa League.
5. Which (if any) Stoke player(s) would have at Fulham ?
Kenwyne Jones, although I would imagine he would have to take quite a pay cut to join us. He could really be a good replacement for Zamora, and I would love to see some acrobatics back at the Cottage. Since Gera left there just hasn't been enough jumping and spinning around for my taste!
6. What is your score prediction ?
Fulham 2-1 Stoke City. We dominate possesion, but the amount of chances are even. Dempsey and Duff grab the goals for us while Shawcross luckily manages to push the ball over our line with his hip from an offside position for you, after extra time is up of course.
7. Sorry I have to ask this one !! What are you're views on "the statue"
It looks awful, there's no doubt about that. After everything Al Fayed has done for us though I don't really mind though. He really is and forever will be a Fulham legend. I'm just happy that he didn't place the statue on top of the Johnny Haynes stand. Now that would have caused a minor earthquake on here. |
