Summer Transfer Window 2024

Deal agreed for McCallum apparently
Can’t say I remember him but to be fair we probably never attacked him during their visit to Stoke.

A young attacking left back is just what we need though so what’s not to like ? Sam McCallum first choice with Steven’s as a back up… sounds like that’s our LB vacancy filled nicely. Add the new keeper and that’s two boxes ticked 👍

Well, that’s a huge signing in my opinion. You only have to see the comments left on stokes Twitter to see how much Rotherham fans loved him.

Like I’ve said my only concern is he let in 89 goals and got relegated which doesn’t do nothing for me , I can’t get excited over these kind of signings I’m afraid

He let something like 89 goals in
But very few of those 89 were down to him. Goals conceded would have been well over 100 if it wasn’t for him.

Read a fans message board to get a good idea of how a player performs on a weekly basis. Rotherham fans are gutted he’s leaving. Read our message boards and everybody wants Bonham replacing and the jury is still out for most on Iverson.

We are getting a good solid Championship keeper in my book. We saw some decent keepers play against us this past season. Some of them we barely tested but Ruddy and this Rotherham keeper really stood out among the ones we did. Add a CB or two now and we are looking a lot steadier at the back.

I understand that logic, very honest.

From what I’ve watched of him he’s an exceptional shot stopper and a brilliant goalkeeper in the worst defence in the league. He’s won player of the season two years on the trot and you only win that in a horrific defence if you’re keeping more out than you’re letting in. It actually speaks volumes that he’s swept up those club awards whilst conceding 89 in a season (baring in mind we are talking about bottom of the table and a team which was relegated early on).

Understand why you may not get excited though, time will tell. I think we will know within the first ten games what kind of keeper we have signed, my assumption and hope is we have one of the best at this level.

Sam McCallum is a done deal apparently. Had agreed to sign a new deal at Norwich but it’s fallen through once the manager was sacked. We’d shown interest before so our deal was resurrected and it all went well from there 👍

Seen they’ve just said goodbye to him on Twitter… he’s definitely going somewhere else. Lots of rumours with us but I’m sure he will have a fair few suiters. I haven’t seen much of him but going from Norwich fans it sounds like another steal on a free 👍🏻

Well, after a promising start to the window it’s all gone a bit flat. Two days to go and it seems like we’ll be kicking off with what we’ve got… unless they’re injured 😞
It’s not looking good tbh , sicknote from Blackburn injured , so Ennis 🤣🤣 and one other up front

This Bosun Lawal lad looks promising but even if he signs it’ll be too late for tomorrow.

Gallagher, Junho, Stevens, Rose all injured and Ryan Maaee is on his way back from injury ( he wasn’t fantastic fully fit ! ). Pearson is still miles off and nobody can figure out if Thompson is banned or not. Only in Stoke City world could this happen on the opening day of a new season.

Expect a freak whirlwind tomorrow morning that destroys the fanzone in seconds 😂😂

Great first half, weathered their attacks second half and got the goal we required for a win. I thought we played out the rest of the game really well too. Game management has been a problem for us in the past.

Given the depleted squad we had I’m well pleased with that result.
